Artificial Intelligence in Safety Monitoring and Alerts to Prevent Workplace Accidents - ATT Group

ATT Digiverse, the latest digital solutions arm of ATT Group of companies, developed a deployable Intelligent Monitoring and Alert Solution (iMAS) to facilitate remote worksite safety and hazard prevention tool, that empowers both onsite working staff and back-office employees to interact, monitor, capture and record the dangerous working environment in near real-time.

Workplace accidents are far too many with a fatality rate of 1.1¹per 100,000 workers in 2019 and 2021, and construction and manufacturing are the top two contributing sectors with a total of 84¹ and 60¹ fatal and major injuries respectively in 1H 2022. As of 1 September 2022, the number of workplace fatalities stands at 36² for 2022, which is close to the total fatalities recorded in the whole of 2021.

In the latest release, Ministry of Manpower (MOM) introduced new measures to strengthen workplace safety and health (WSH) and improve WSH oversight as part of the heightened safety period over the next six³months. Companies that are found to have serious WSH lapses such as unsafe workplace conditions or poor risk controls following serious or fatal workplace accidents, may face debarment from MOM, from employing new foreign employees for up to three months and require their Chief Executives to personally account to MOM and take responsibility for rectifications.

In addressing workplace safety issues, ATT Digiverse iMAS allows the capability for data and video analytics that combines human and machine intervention to prevent workplace accidents for improved workplace safety and communications. This would increase the overall efficiency of the organisation by managing business operations processes to proactively prevent work sites accidents. iMAS, with artificial intelligence technology built-in, is a modular and scalable cloud-based solution whose prime capabilities includes real-time construction site monitoring, hazard identification and alerting, live video and audio streaming, safety fencing, distress calls, to name a few. A live dashboard is displayed with all the analysis being done from the backend, empowering key personnel in fast response and making decisions pertaining to the safety of their workers.

As a business partner and user in the construction industry, Gain Max Construction & Engineering has started to collaborate with ATT Digiverse to deploy iMAS to trial use cases at their worksites.
